Discussion Group, 9:45 a.m.
Ms. Mika Cottier will lead this week’s discussion. The topic is as follows:
Alex Holt, our visiting minister last week, mentioned that to become awakened or develop a collective consciousness, we will need to accept all beings or develop compassion and love for all beings. If we accept this and are striving towards awakening which beings would you have most difficulty accepting?
Are there beings you would exclude from a collective consciousness? Are there any beings
which you do not have compassion and love for? Examples may include: rats, spiders, snakes, dandelions, rabbit brush, etc. Or it could be a group of beings with common backgrounds such as, addicts, prisoners, abusive people, etc. What is the first step one could take to develop compassion and love for these beings?
Worship Service, 10:30 a.m.
Rev. Stephen Ames will lead a service that focuses on our individual and collective commitment to the Fellowship. There will be opportunity to reflect on what you find meaningful about your involvement with the UUFKC, and what you might bring to the Fellowship to enrich and build on it as well. This will be a lively and participatory service!
Potluck lunch to follow! Bring something to share if you wish.
Rev. Ames afternoon workshop, 12:15 p.m.
We will continue working with those interested in planning and developing 4th Sunday services. Typically, these are services that we do not engage outside ministers or community speakers for, usually relying on Fellowship members. If you wish to become involved in this effort, please plan to stay after lunch and hang out with us.
