This Sunday at the UU Fellowship

9:30 a.m. Discussion Group: “The Art of Letting Go”

Maryann Lundin will lead our discussion this Sunday. The topic involves Tibetan Buddhism and letting go of something you care deeply about.  To tie our discussion into the lesson, we will discuss the art of letting go.  What is your philosophy about letting go, quitting a job, stopping a project, etc?   Has it been difficult for you to let go?  Has your philosophy changed over your lifetime?  Please see the attachments with a number of quotes below to get you thinking about the topic.

10:30 a.m. Worship Service: Rev. Patt Herdklotz, “Learning from Tibet”
Ancient ones listened to the mystic-voice, a non-rational/intuitive way of meeting life in the context of all time.  Tibetans have kept this rich way of knowing, linked now to the Buddhism it embraced as it grew through Asia.  Rev. Patt Herdklotz reflects on Tibetan Buddhism with its value to us Western/Americans, so immersed in rational thinking and The Word.  As the religious education students’ lesson ponders a Tibetan story involving courage and loss or ‘letting go’, Rev. Patt will focus on this Asian lesson for us in our very different culture.

BOARD MEETING TO FOLLOW THE SERVICE. ANY COMMITTEES WITH INFORMATION TO REPORT TO THE BOARD ARE INVITED TO DO SO!!!!!!!!
